Q. How come I've never heard of Eau Claire By Owner? Are you a fly-by-night company?
A. If you've never heard of Eau Claire By Owner, perhaps it's because we don't spend a lot of time or money promoting the company. We don't do mass-market advertising like billboards or ads in newspapers or monthly home magazines. We keep costs low to pass savings on to clients. This is not a fly-by-night operation. Eau Claire by Owner is a proud member of the Better Business Bureau and has been in business since 2005.
Q. What kind of service is EauClaireByOwner.com?
A. EauClaireByOwner.com is a hybrid real estate firm. Our goal is to help people buy and sell real estate at a more reasonable price. We are here to give people options in between selling purely "By Owner" and paying high listing commissions for a full-service real estate agent. If you are willing to do some of the work involved in selling your home, we can help you save money when you do.
Q. Are you a licensed real estate agent?
A. Yes. That's the only way to list on the MLS.
Q. What do I get when I subscribe to your service?
A. You will receive an online listing and web presence for your home with as much space as you need to describe it. A professional yard sign, access to change your listing 24/7 and the ability to upload as many as 10 photos of your property. See the what's included page for more information.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. $395 for a term of 6 months.
Q. How long does it take for my listing to be active?
A. That depends on method of payment. If using a credit card, your listing will be available for you to complete immediately. Once you complete the listing process, your listing will be made visible to the public by the administrator as soon as he is able to activate it; usually within a day. Check or money order payments can take up to a week. MLS listings are usually activated in the MLS within a day ot two of the walk-through.
Q. How long will my listing remain active?
A. The standard listing term is 6 months.
Q. My house has sold, how do I remove it from the site?
A. Simply login and change your properties' status to sold, alternatively you can also email cancel@EauClaireByOwner.com and we will remove the listing for you and come to pickup your signage. Please make sure that all signs are available in your yard for pickup.
Q. Can I make changes to my listing after it has posted?
A. Certainly! You can make any changes you like by logging in to your account at any time. You can change descriptions, change the photos you have uploaded or advertise upcoming open houses. You are in control of your listing, all changes are real time and will appear immediately. If you have an MLS listing, remember to email any changes to keep both listings accurate
Q. Who owns the signs?
A. The signs are the property of EauClaireByOwner.com. We will handle pickup and delivery, but you are responsible for any damage or theft of the yard sign (see our policies).
Q. How much is the renewal fee for MLS listings?
A. $150 for an additional 6 months.
Q. Does paying the $395 and filling out the EauClaireByOwner listing forms automatically place my home in the MLS immediately?
A. No. The MLS is a separate system from this website. We will need to set an appointment to complete listing paperwork and perform a walk-through of your home.
Q. How long does it take to complete the MLS listing paperwork and walk-through?
A. Usually between 1 and 2 hours.
